Sarah Cavender discovered the beauty and versatility of bronze screening and other wire materials while studying at the Philadelphia College of Art where she majored in sculpture. More than two decades later she is still applying her expert understanding of metal to develop a process of forming exquisite floral, leaf and insect representations in nature as well as abstract form in which each piece contains an element of woven wire. Cavender's metal mesh jewelry, belts and handbags are hand-made to order by local artisans using materials made primarily in the USA with stones imported from Europe.
