Condemned to Be Free hosted a private, by-invite-only NY Fashion Week Cannabis Benefit last night that brought out the likes of Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker Chris de la Torre, photographer/author Robert Herman, and celebrity stylist Raven Roberts. Writer, post-punk artist and former publicist to Bob Marley, Vivien Goldman told Jena Min, one of the event's organizers, "I just had to come and experience the new frontier in cannabis marketing for myself."

The evening started with post-Valentine chocolate-covered strawberries and freshly buttered popcorn by CC Gregibles as the guests' faces lit up with delight. Partygoers were dancing to the alternating beats of DJ Kris Graham and DJ Jamie Rose when the dark salted maple and white cardamom chocolate truffles by Baked Joint & Co. were served and everyone went nuts. "They were mobbed!" said Acharee, referring to the hosts trying to move through the crowd. "The place was packed," said Graham. "You could barely move!"

Guests from all over the city turned out to support the documentary film, Our Medicine, which follows three families whose children suffer from debilitating seizures and the challenges they face when they unexpectedly become advocates for cannabis, which previously went against their beliefs. Contributions are payable to IDA and are tax deductible. Throughout the night, guests had a chance to bid in a silent auction of luxury fashion and cannabis accessories donated by brands sold by luxe boutique Condemned to Be Free and the lifestyle site The Hemponair. "We decided to make the auction available online so those who couldn't be there in person will also have an opportunity to participate," said Min, founder of Condemned to Be Free. Make sure to check out the auction while they last here!

Auction items include a one-of-a-kind painting called 'Mary Jane' by Iris Barbee Bonner of THESEPINKLIPS, a sterling silver one-hitter by JvdF, and a signed copy of The Cannabis Kitchen Cookbook by Robyn Griggs Lawrence. The occasion was filled with sophistication and affection for great cannabis inventions. "It is always a pleasure to be around such a rare gathering of good people, who love the industry as much as I do," said Brooklyn-based Puffco's Vinson Sanders, who donated their newest vaporizer, the Puffco Pro 2 to the auction.

There were VIP gift bags with designer t-shirts from THEGR8ONE by Odari Reed and premium cannabis accessories like Shine 24k gold rolling papers, Kannasör grinders, and hemp wellness products from Charlotte's Web. Added co-host and founder of The Hemponair Jason Lazar, "There are plenty of legal and responsible ways to educate people right here in the city, and that's exactly what we're doing— just with a little style and flair!"

"It was a stylish and smartly curated affair— and for a great cause!" Albert Beniada, Executive Director of Filmshop said towards the end of the evening.
